One of the main projects I am working on right now is painting a piece of furniture. It is actually a cabinet that opens up to a desk. I've had it for a few years now, and it is a very useful piece. However, its color black no longer works for me.
So it will soon become white! I actually started this project a while back - longer ago than I care to admit - but it's since had to receive extra coats of paint, and I had yet to paint the shelves and doors. Finally this weekend I've started to tackle the remainder:
So far each side has received three coats of primer. Sounds like a lot, but not only is the piece going from black to white, but the furniture is made of cheap laminate, so paint does not adhere to it very well. I will share all of my steps with you when I finally have this piece finished. It's already starting to look so much better!
What about you, do you have any projects that have taken longer than you'd like?
