The Dining Room Transformation Begins

In decorating our living space, I am starting with the dining area. I have actually come a long way with it already. I purchased the china cabinet shown below, from Crate and Barrel, soon after our wedding to accomodate our gifts. The dining table from Ikea followed, but that's when things stalled. I have been on a crazy hunt for chairs since. I have become extremely picky and can't seem to find what I want for the right price. I'll have a separate post about that soon...

I am in the meantime trying to zero in on the exact color scheme. My mood board for the living area is just too summery, so I am trying to see what I can come up with that will not require repainting the walls but will make the place feel a bit warmer. Here is my first try:

I am going to try bringing in a deeper turquoise as well as a mustard-y yellow. I will keep the pink to a minimum with the flowers only. We'll see if this works or if I'll change my mind yet again!

I love that white round table with the dark hutch and yellow pattern on the fabric. It's going to be a beautiful room!

That ikea table is one of my favorites because it works with several different color schemes and styles. What's your current wall color? Lookin forward to seein how it comes out! :-)

Hi Arianna, thanks for your comment! I do love the versatility of that ikea table. My wall color right now is that blue on the very top right of the mood board. It's sort of a pool color, so it's very summery and I'm trying to tone it down for winter.
